GROUNDED IN PURPOSE.
We acknowledge that Black students historically and perisistently remain the furtherst from the sphere of success in the traditional school setting, We know that academic research demostrates that Black students can achieve academic success with kulturally responsive and sustaining instruction and programming. We understand that fostering a strong sense of belonging produces the conditions for Black Genius to thrive.
Students are immersed in kultural curriculum and content that constructs a critical connection to the authentic kultural self: knowledge, awareness, and identity to emerge as independent and critical thinkers there are three core programmatic tenets: Black Genius (intellectualism), Blackenomics (financial literacy, Blacknificent (health & wellness), and Blaccent (critical consciousness).
What We Aim To Do.
It is time to do things differently for Black student in the educational system. We need to to take enact bold approached to produce radical results that we produce profound change. Unfortunately historically and presently, we are failing Black students and adversely impacting their opportunitues to live full and empowered lives that every human has the inherit right to. However, we continue to seek out fleeting and temporary solutions, blaming student and families for lackluster results.
As educators and leaders, we have a responsibility to make the change needed to ensure that Black students do not succeed in spite of but because of the education sytem. Thus, Nzinga Incorporated, a group of committed Black educators and Black youth are prepared to our part to serve our community by ensuring that Black students are culturally affirmed, feel a sense of belonging, and have access to high quality and rigorousn programming that ignites and illuminates their genius.
