About BGI
We are excited to kickoff the year with our Black is LIT program, a platform for meaningful dialogue concerning Black culture by building critical literacy and consciousness.
This year, we are launching, Da LIT Society, a thought-provoking 3-part series titled: "Confronting the N-Word." This series is dedicated to exploring the complexities around the use of the N-word, the harmful impact of hate speech, and the challenging experiences of anti-blackness confronting Black students nationwide.
Students will be empowered as the next generation of Black Thought Leaders to create transformational change. They will have the opportunity to serve as members of the Lit Krew to develop a collective call to action and raise awareness.
