About BGI
Join us for the launch of the Black Student Kollective as we gather in the first of a series of critical conversations as part of the Sankofa Symposium. We will address the harmful impact of anti-Blackness and the role of "N-word" in the Black community via intergenerational panels. seminars, and thought partnership to build critical consciousness. Students will have the opportunity to join the Black Student Kollective to help develop the Social Change Project for next year.
Sankofa Summer Symposium :
- Development of Black scholars as community leaders and as agents of social change
- Build safe spaces for Black youth to freely express their authentic selves
- Promote cultural awareness and knowledge to cultivate Black Excellence
- Decolonization of learning experiences of for Black scholars for liberation and empowerment
